Outlook Nightmare Hits NASA Mission

Teknozip – Microsoft’s revamped Outlook client has faced criticism since its release, and now it seems even NASA isn’t immune to its shortcomings. During the recent Artemis II mission, the email application malfunctioned so severely that Mission Control had to intervene and remotely fix the problem on the spacecraft’s computer.

The Artemis II mission, a ten-day lunar flyby with astronauts, aims to push the boundaries of human space exploration. Millions worldwide tuned in to witness the launch and listen to the communication between the crew and Mission Control. However, a rather unexpected problem arose when Commander Reid Wiseman attempted to use his Microsoft Surface Pro.

Amidst the mission’s progress, Wiseman reported issues with the Outlook application. "Yeah, go for it. And I also see that I have two Microsoft Outlooks, and neither of those work. If you want to remote in and check the Optimus and those two Outlooks, that would be awesome," he stated.

Mission Control acknowledged the problem and offered their assistance to resolve the "double Outlook issue." While the email mishap didn’t jeopardise the mission’s core objectives, it highlighted the widespread frustrations with the new Outlook client, even reaching the heights of space exploration. It certainly wasn’t a great look for Microsoft.
