Pixel Battery Woes What’s the Real Cause

Teknozip – Google’s March update for Pixel phones, intended to bring a host of improvements including AI enhancements and security upgrades, has instead triggered a frustrating battery drain issue for some users. While Google hasn’t officially addressed the problem, a Pixel owner may have pinpointed the root cause.

A now-deleted Reddit post detailed a potential bug introduced by the update that prevents the phone’s CPU from entering Deep Doze mode. Deep Doze is a power-saving feature that throttles performance and limits background activity when the phone is idle. The reason for the post’s removal from the r/GooglePixel subreddit remains unclear.

The battery drain issue doesn’t seem to affect all Pixel devices, but reports on Reddit and Google’s support forums indicate that many users are experiencing significantly reduced battery life, with their phones needing a charge well before the end of the day. This is particularly irritating for those accustomed to their phones lasting until late evening.

The problem appears to be affecting a range of devices, from the Pixel 7 to the Pixel 10 Pro. One affected user has submitted a formal defect request in the Google Issue Tracker, which has already garnered considerable attention with over 99 comments. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a definitive solution at this time. Some Pixel users have also reported encountering bootloop issues after installing the March update.

teknozip.com has contacted Google regarding the battery drain issues stemming from the March Pixel update. We will provide updates as soon as we receive further information from Google.
